A warning from the Maccabees: American citizens carrying the constitution beware

“Where the book of the covenant was found in the possession of anyone, or if anyone adheres to the law, the king’s decree condemns him to death ”(1 Maccabees 1:57). This ancient passage from 2000 years ago has been running through my mind for two days. Let me tell you why: it has everything to do with what’s going on in the United States of America.

On Saturday night, I watched Tucker Carlson’s very forbidden three-part documentary “Patriot Purge” about the events of January 6 and their aftermath. The scene that particularly struck me was the scene where armed Federal Bureau of Investigation agents stormed the home of Paul and Marilyn Huper, a middle-aged Alaskan couple from the small town of Homer. Their crime: attending the Trump “Save America” rally on January 6. the FBI thought Ms Huper had stolen Nancy Pelosi’s laptop, but in reality the couple didn’t even enter the Capitol that day.

However, it was not the fact that the FBI invaded their house which caught my attention; Which of the Hupers’ personal items was the FBI seized, presumably to be used as evidence that they were conspirators against the state. After handcuffing and questioning the couple, a FBI The officer took Ms. Huper’s laptop and something else, something you might have at home too.

“And then he took a little, tiny copy of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution,” Ms. Huper said in episode two of the Carlson documentary. Her husband then rang the bell, “This is how the government sees you. They seized my copy of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution … as evidence against me. What does that say? “

This is a good question.

The response provides a moment of clarity on the path the Biden administration is taking in its self-proclaimed war on “national terrorists.” Here is a United States federal agency engaged in a pre-dawn raid on participants of a political rally, and some of the evidence confiscated is a personal copy of United States Basic Law. As Mr. Huper told Carlson, “if you [have] a copy of these rights, you are considered an extreme radical today.

With that in mind, consider now the quote from the Book of Maccabees: “Where the book of the covenant was found in anyone’s possession, or if anyone adhered to the law, the king’s decree condemned him. to death ”(1 Maccabees 1:57).

The Hupers were not sentenced to death for possessing a copy of the Constitution. Nonetheless, Mr Huper’s question must be asked: What does it say about the motives of the Biden administration if its agents walk around to seize personal copies of the founding book of the American alliance? To answer this, it’s worth exploring the old parallel, especially given Bible prophecies that the old type would happen again in this end times.

The first book of Maccabees is eyewitness testimony; it is a precise historical account. It describes the events of the beginning of the second century, about 300 years after the last book of the Hebrew Bible. And yet, the Bible itself is not silent on these events.

The old prophet Daniel recorded a vision of God shortly before his death that prophesied what would happen to the people of Israel both in the years after Daniel’s death and also in the last days. The record recorded in Daniel 11 contains the most accurate account of the provable historical events of the 300 years since Daniel’s death, but it is mainly for our time today (Herbert W. Armstrong described it in his booklet free Bible proof).

In Daniel 11:21, the narrative slows down and focuses on the work of a singular individual, a despicable, despicable, and monstrous person whom history knows as Antiochus. iv Epiphanes.

King Antiochus was the chief narcissist, calling himself Epiphanes, which means “God manifested”. He ruled the Seleucid Empire, which at the time of his reign included the territory of Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and, most importantly, Judea.

Antiochus Epiphanes is also the main antagonist in the history of the Maccabees: Jews who revolted against the decrees of Antiochus. Daniel and 1 Maccabees detail the events of Antiochus’ actions against the Jewish people — Daniel as prophecy and the Maccabees as history.

Importantly, both accounts speak of the inexplicable anger that Antiochus inflicted on the Jews. His campaign wasn’t just about trying to control a population of subjects. It was not enough for Antiochus to attempt to destroy the Jewish people. He also sought to destroy any vestiges of the law he could find. He sought to erase the constitution of the Jews.

“Wherever the book of the covenant was in anyone’s possession, or if anyone kept the law, the king’s decree condemned him to death” (1 Maccabees 1:57). The “book of the covenant” in this historic case was the founding books of the Bible. They were considered by many Jews to carry the weight of constitutional law. Obviously, Antiochus’ hatred was not just against a group of people but against their Basic Law, the source of the identity of the Jewish people.

“For Antiochus, it was not enough to kill tens of thousands of Jews. He tried to kill them religion,” wrote Look at Jerusalem editor-in-chief Gerald Flurry in his 2014 article “What Inspires President Obama’s Relationship with Israel?” Without being able to practice the law, or even keep a copy of the law, the Jewish people would probably have blended into history like other ancient peoples.

Fortunately, history confirms that Antiochus failed. In fact, it was the zeal to uphold the law that motivated the Maccabean revolt against Antiochus. “Let all who are zealous for the law and uphold the covenant come out with me! says Mattathias, the father of rebellion (1 Maccabees 2:27).

Yet Antiochus’ strategy was clear: by erasing the constitution, Antiochus sought to erase the Jewish people.

Now consider again what Mr. Huper said to Tucker Carlson: “They seized my copy of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution… as evidence against me. What does that say? “

What does she say about the spirit of this administration which seeks to undermine the basic law of the nation? In the past, judges, whether original or in favor of a more liberal interpretation, argued over the nature of the Constitution. But now the American leadership wants to erase the Constitution completely. (We have witnessed a similar slide towards “anarchy” within Israel’s own Supreme Court.)

In the past, card-holding Communists were seen as enemies of the state; now it is those who carry a copy of the Constitution.

It is true that the Constitution of the United States is not the law of God (although it is largely based on biblical values). Yet the Constitution is the basic law that preserves the unity of the United States.

This same hatred towards the Constitution was manifested throughout the administration of Barack Obama (himself framed by a communist holder of the card, Frank Marshall Davis). A very illustrative example is where the Internal Revenue Service of the Obama administration was exposed as targeting tea party organizations and, as the Inspector General’s report revealed, “the political action-type organizations involved. in… education on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights ”.

Commenting on the Inspector General’s report at the time, Professor Nicholas Quinn Rosenkranz of Georgetown wrote: “[F]Federal officers take an oath to “uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” It’s scary to think that these same officials who are suspicious of the Tea Party are also suspicious of the Constitution itself. …

“This is a new low for the US government, targeting those who would like to educate others about its founding document. … In short, never before has the federal government chosen to be the object of scrutiny for those who want to teach their fellow citizens our magnificent Constitution. This is Obama’s new innovation irs“(Washington Post; September 23, 2014).

Obviously, what started out as a directive from Obama irs targeting those who dare to educate Americans on the Constitution becomes more personal. Now a personal copy of the US Constitution in your home is proof that you are an enemy of the state.

Where does this hatred of the Constitution come from? Could it be that the same spirit that prompted Antiochus Epiphanes to attack anyone who had a copy of the law is at work in the United States?

As Mr. Flurry wrote, Antiochus did not come up with the idea himself: “Whenever a person like Antiochus is involved, it is Following than just Antiochus you’re dealing with. There is an evil spirit power that hates God at work.

Antiochus’ face may have changed, but the strategy and spirit remain the same.

These parallels between what happened to Jews over 2,000 years ago and what is happening in the United States today are worth considering. End-time prophecies in Daniel (and elsewhere) said it would happen. To understand why, please request the free Gerald Flurry America Under Attack booklet.
