Armed Forces Veterans Society to Host Remembrance Day Dinner


The Armed Forces Alumni Society invites the U of A family to a Memorial Day dinner at 5 p.m., Monday, May 30, at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House.

We come together to remember and honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country. Join us for an evening of remembrance and observance.

After a short reception, the program will begin at 5:30 p.m. The society is honored to welcome keynote speaker Brig. General Bernie Skoch (US Air Force, retired). Skoch graduated from college in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. After graduating, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Air Force. His 29-year Air Force career took him across the United States, Europe, Asia, the Pacific and the Middle East on permanent and temporary duty until his retirement in rank of brigadier general. The program will also include remarks from Yvette Murphy-Erby, Vice Chancellor of the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Brock Haegele BA’17, Arkansas Alumni Assistant Director of External Relations. Association, as well as board members of the Army Forces Alumni Society. Herman’s Ribhouse is cooking dinner.
