Bank of America has hired a Goldman Sachs dealmaker to bolster its coverage of tech companies in Europe.
Nick Hopkins has joined the US investment bank as a managing director within its technology, media and telecoms team. He will report to Alexandre Gafsi and Emmanuel Hibou, co-heads of investment bank Emea TMT, according to sources familiar with the hire.
Hopkins has spent the past 13 years at Goldman Sachs, most recently covering technology companies.

Negotiators specializing in the technology sector remain in demand despite a broader drop in recruitment, as fees have fallen so far this year after a record year in 2021 when revenue hit $130 billion worldwide.
Earlier this month, Morgan Stanley hired Deutsche Bank’s Tammo Buennemeyer to cover technology companies in Germany. Vivek Manipadam joined Credit Suisse in May as managing director in its Emea TMT unit and Citigroup continued to hire for its technology and communications team under former European investment banking boss Phil Drury. .
Nomura is also building a technology-focused team of senior bankers, which could include up to 15 managing directors.
