ALBANY – Samantha M. Brown was recently unanimously selected to be a Fellow of the State University of New York at Albany Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa.
Omicron Delta Kappa is a national leadership honor society that recognizes and encourages graduate scholarship, leadership and exemplary character among students, faculty, staff, administrators and alumni from over 300 campuses. academics across the country, according to the announcement.
Brown, a December 2020 Honors graduate from SUNY Albany with a BA in U.S. Government and Public Policy, will be recognized at the Chapter’s virtual induction ceremony on Monday, December 6 at 8 p.m. ET.
Brown, of Constableville, received an Associate’s Degree with Honors in Public Policy from Mohawk Valley Community College in May 2019. She has been employed by the New York State Assembly since 2018 as a Constituent Liaison.
She volunteers annually as a driver for the “Santa for Seniors” program and is completing training to become a volunteer for the crisis line for people affected by domestic violence and / or sexual assault. She has been a recipient of the Ralph H. & Dora W. Baker and Wladis Law Firm Fellowship and is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, Phi Theta Kappa and the USA Today All New York State Academic Team.
According to the announcement, Omicron Delta Kappa emphasizes the development of the whole person, both as a member of the academic community and as a contributor to a better society.
The organization recognizes those who have demonstrated a high level of leadership and effectiveness in collegial activities; unite student leaders from all sectors of college life to address issues of local and college interest.
Brown and her husband, Eric, have five daughters.
