Russia’s largest city won the nomination in the “Europe’s Leading City Destination” category, leaving behind Amsterdam, Barcelona, ​​Berlin, Geneva, Lisbon, London, Lyon, Rome, St. Petersburg, Venice and Vienna. The Moscow City Tourism Committee was awarded the title of “The First City Tourism Office in Europe”.

St. Petersburg, the second largest city in Russia, has been recognized as “Europe’s leading heritage destination” and edged out Amsterdam, Athens, Berlin, Venice and other cities in the “Leading Travel Destination in Europe” nomination. city ​​in Europe ”, while the St. Petersburg tourism development committee was awarded the title of“ Best Marketing Campaign in Europe ”.

Russian airline Aeroflot won the “Leading Airline Brand in Europe” award. In addition to the Russian carrier, Air France, British Airways, Iberia, Icelandair, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Lufthansa, SAS Scandinavian Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, TAP Air Portugal and Turkish Airlines were nominated.

The World Travel Awards were created in 1993 to recognize, reward and celebrate excellence in all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries. It is recognized worldwide as the mark of excellence in the industry and named as the Oscar of the travel industry.
