Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday announced a “Shobha Yatra” on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti and said the country’s constitution was shaped by the ideology of Maharshi Valmiki.

Stressing that Dalits and minorities in society are under attack, Rahul Gandhi said that the ideology propagated by Maharishi Valmiki was under attack under the BJP regime.

“Valmiki ji has shown a way to the nation. His message was about love and brotherhood. Today, when we see India, we see its message under attack. Our Constitution is a Constitution of the ideology of Valmiki ji, ”said the leader of the Congress.

Aiming at the Modi government, he said, “I would like to convey a message to the Dalit brothers and sisters that the Congress Party will end these attacks. The more they break the country, the more we will connect the country. The more they spread hatred, the more we will speak of love and brotherhood ”.

“We can observe that his ideology is under attack. The interests of the country’s minorities are being violated. On behalf of the Congress Party, I would like to say that we will not allow this tendency to suppress minorities to continue, ”he added.

Speaking to the media after reporting on the Yatra, Rahul Gandhi said: “Greetings on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti! Maharishi Valmiki propagated the idea of love and brotherhood. Our Constitution is based on the ideas of Maharishi Valmiki.

Revered by the Dalits who make up about 17-20% of the total population, Valmiki is considered the precursor poet of the Ramayana epic.

He is called the Adi Kavi – the first poet of Sanskrit literature. It is said that the Ramcharitmanas of Tulsidas is based on the Ramayan of Valmiki.
