Lovable Ralph is looking for a home
Salvation! My name is Ralph, as of now I am the oldest member of the shelter. I’m leaving now in a year next month, and it would be best to have a house for Turkey Day or even better, Christmas!
I am five years old and currently reside in the commercial office of the shelter where you can request to visit me. I actually prefer to be here because I have a lot of space to walk around. I can be selective about cats at times, so I would recommend doing a slow intro. I really like playing with the kittens!
I recently shared the house with my dear friend Nana, a newly adopted lab mix, so you know I love dogs too.
Catnip is one of my favorite things in the world, and I would do anything for it. I love all types of catnip treats / toys and the Friskies party treats are my favorite. I am known to be quite independent, but I am also very gentle! I’m definitely a hug – just ask the staff.
I also love to play with laser lights, I can never get tired of the red dot. You know what? I’ll catch it someday.

I guess some “kudos” should be needed on you being the oldest resident of the shelter, but sadly that’s not the best news. We must find you accommodation as soon as possible!
We understand that refuge life is comfortable and cozy and that they treat you very well, but you absolutely have to move on, my friend. Readers, please help Ralph quit his day job and find his furry house!

It is at this time of the year that we have entered the season of cold temperatures. This is just a friendly reminder to tap your hoods and wheels and honk your horn before you start your vehicle! Outdoor cats seek warmth and they can hide very well!
Events to come
Humane Society open house and photos with Santa Claus, Saturday, December 4, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring your pet, kids, or take a family photo – cost $ 15 for a framed photo. Refreshments will be served. All dogs must be kept on a leash and cats must be in cages.
Care for cats and kittens
Did you know? The shelter will cut the claws of your kittens and cats. It is not necessary to make an appointment, but please call ahead if you can.
The shelter invites the public to stop by and visit our cats and kittens to see if there is a match, but if no one is talking to your heart, we also have cats located at PetSmart in New Hartford. Their opening hours are Monday to Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

You can stop by the refuge, 6247 Lampear Road, anytime we are open! While it is helpful to our staff if you are making an appointment to abandon or adopt an animal, it is not necessary. Plus, you don’t need an appointment to donate.
